MISS SELFRIDGE for GOSSIP GIRL

All Gossip Girl fans can now channel their inner Blair Waldorf by dressing up like her… or dress like any of the girls from Upper Eastside…

"Miss Selfridge, the high-street fashion chain owned by the Arcadia Group, is partnering with Warner Bros to launch a collection inspired by its US TV series Gossip Girl.

The range of eight dresses is based on the styles of the four female characters in the show, Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen) and Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) and the designs of Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman.

Gossip Girl costume designer Daman will host a video series discussing the characters’ style and giving fans advice on how to create Gossip Girl–inspired outfits from the Miss Selfridge collection." (article from http://www.mad.com.uk/)

The collection will be available in store and online by end of April 2010. My personality is leaning to Blair, of course. I love the bitch with a soft side.

The deigner on the show have really defined the girls' fashion sense: Blair seems to exude the fashionable “IT” girl; Serena for me is vampy-sexy; Jenny is edgy and funky; Vanessa is so bohemian. I'm curious how these personalities will come out in the collection.

Too bad there's no Miss Selfridge here in the Philippines but thankfully it's available online.

So, ladies, hope to see you strut you stuff.

XOXO

Flip to Brazil

I know na what I want for Valentine's day...

At first I didn't want one coz I thought, where would I use it?! I didn't need one more gadget in my bag! But I know na where I'll use them aside from taking videos of my little boy gwaping...

I'll join the Havaianas: Happy Soles Trip to Brazil Contest. Just take a video of how you can make the world a "happy" place and get a chance to win a trip to Brazil with you and three of your friends! Click here for the full mechanics.

See... there's a purpose for the Flip Video.

RIP: ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

Fashion designer Alexander McQueen was found dead, Thursday, in his London home. Speculations on the cause of his death was his deep sorrow over the recent death of his mother.

He has given us flamboyant and almost-costume-like designs.

Another one bites the dust...

NOyBODY!!!

I was browsing Chuvaness’ site the other day and saw this picture posted on her site!

My brother, Jong, actually designed this shirt for Noynoy’s campaign. Cheesy but eye catching right?! I mean, who in the Philippines haven’t heard of THAT song?!

Although it would’ve been nice if the photog also caught the front of the vest to get the full effect. Here’s the full design…

I think there’s there’s another design they chose and he might make one for Mar too.

I asked my brother if he could get one shirt/vest for me. Hahaha!

K in Showtime

She was my ballet classmate years ago. She has always been a very good dancer. But we've also known she was a good singer although she didn't sing that often. I remember hearing her sing the first time, it was in her bedroom with a minus one of The Little Mermaid's Part of Your World.

Now everybody knows her as a singer. I'm glad this time she showed her talent as a dancer... and that she's danced ballet too!

I wish I could still dance ballet...hihi!

Carry pinoy pride: BagIto Bags

We should really thank Rhett Eala for putting our country on the map... literally!

The proliferation of everything with the Philippine map has put the term "nationalistic" to a whole new level. His Collezione shirts seem to be every politicians' uniform! Other brands have followed like Bench, with Pinoy Lab and Penshoppe with Ninoy/Cory themed shirts.

The other day while browsing the February issue of Metro I saw these cute bags with its own nationalistic flair...

Introducing BagIto Bags! Notice the familiar bag? Yep, looks like Longchamp right?! Using the the classic Le Pliage as its canvas, BagIto Bags have the Philippine map printed on it.

The Map design also comes in different colors: army green, fuschia, turquoise, navy blue, and lime green.

There's also one with the Philippine flag and the very pinoy, jeepney (picture not available).

I think these would be great gifts for balikbayans! If only I had known about BagIto bags earlier, I would've sent some to the US for my cousins! They were so into Pilipinas shirts. That's the only thing they wanted as pasalubong!

I wouldn't mind getting aq small one in red for Valentine's... hint, hint to my hubby!!!

To order, check out their site at http://www.bagitobag.multiply.com/.
