Cheap Thrills #2: JUANA

For an office gal like me, shopping for clothes without breaking the bank is such a struggle. Last year while preparing for my son's 1st birthday, I came across stores in Divisoria that are quite fashionable and yet budget friendly.

JUANA is a working girl's haven. Seriously! For P350-P400 you can get really good dresses already. And for P250 you can get fashionable blouses that are fit for work and play. During their big sales, they even cut down the prices to P200 for clothes and P150 for blouses. A few weeks ago I got to grab a handful of clothes for only P1600... not bad!

Here's some of the few - and I mean few! - items I bought...

The way to make these dresses stand out is to accessorize! The right bag and shoes make me look like I spend thousands of pesos! Really value for money.

JUANA stores are located in pasilio 2i-01, 2c-02, 2a-41, 2a-44 and 2g-01, all in 168 Mall, Divisoria Mall, Greenhills Shopping Center and SM Valenzuela. You can also follow them on Facebook for sales and new items.

MUÑIZ SHOES

Shoe addict in me is on the prowl again for my next pair. Guess what I found...

Muñiz Shoes is Carmina Villaroel's baby. Yep, Carmina Villaroel as in the actress, tv host, commercial model and mother of twins. Awesome right?! The debut collection can rival those imported brands. Designs are chic yet comfy. See for yourself... here are some of my faves...

Gianelli

Carmen

Beatrice

Bettina

Barbara

Maura

The shoes are named after family and friends close to Carmina's heart. Even the name Muñiz is actually her middle name. The brand prides itself in being 100% locally made. Currently, it's only being sold online.

So, here I am again doing  online shopping. In love with a pair already.

Heavy Duty Topshop

Okay, so how come we don't have the Topshop make up line here in the Philippines?!!! Mommy is off to the US this November and I'm trying to look for stuff to buy. I saw these...

Heavy Duty, the A/W2010 Collection of Topshop...

More Bazaars

You know Christmas is around the corner when you see a lot of bazaars popping up around Metro Manila...

The last time I went to this bazaar I seriously scored great outfits! Put it down on your planners ladies...

The Street goes green

Great timing to see this on Tot Snob, I'm currently introducing Sesame Street to my son through videos. Making him learn his ABC's from Big Bird. But this may also be a chance to introduce the benefits of going green to him by carrying reusable bags when going out.

This is a fun and cute collection from Envirosax!
Meet the gang!

Elmo

Oscar the Grouch

Cookie Monster

Grover

Big Bird

Fits conveniently in a pouch...

Gosh, so adorable! I want all! I've been using Baggu for quite sometime now. A friend gave it to me. I love it! But I want these too! It's $39.95 for all five and $9.95 each.

Now who wants to get it for me????

Cheap Thrills #1: e.l.f. Bases and Primers

I love make up! For someone who took just one session of make up class, I think I do a pretty good job putting on my own make up. Maybe because I'm naturally kikay.

To make sure I do it the right way, I use the right tools and take extra steps for my make up to look better. But make up can be a bit expensive. So I try to look for alternative brands that work as well as expensive make up brands.

I have learned to use primer and bases when putting on make up. For primer I use Sheene, a Thai brand, for my everyday use. It's about P400++ per bottle. For special occassions, I use Laura Mercier.

For base, I found e.l.f. Eye Primer and Liner Sealer. ($3.00)

The 'prime' is the base for eyeshadow. I find it effective in preventing creases and keeps make up longer. The 'seal' side can be mixed with any eyeshadow color and applied as a liner. I haven't tried that side yet.

I also have the e.l.f. Lip Primer and Plumper. ($3.00)

I like the lip primer but don't think the plumper makes my lip any plumpier. I love it with my red lipstick! It keeps it together.

Last night I attended a wedding and tried on the smokey eye look. I used lots of blues, gray, silver and a bit of violet eyeshadows to match my outfit. I kept the lips natural with nude lipstick from MAC in Jubilee and I just used NARS Orgasm blush for a flushed look. Then I just tied my hair in a ponytail. Here's the final look...

I think I did  pretty good job! I tried putting on false lashes but couldn't keep it on... have to practice that part... Saved me P1500 for hair and make up! Snaps for moi!

(e.l.f. is available at Watson's, SM and Landmark)

This is my new favorite Watson's find...

Kleenex Facial Oil Blotter

It is really absorbent and doesn't tear easily. I've tried it on my husband... his face is major, major oily! It's delicate on skin too, not like other brands that feel rough on my cheeks.

I rate this five kikay stars!!!

Forever 21 Sale!

Visiting my friend's site I saw this ad.

This is bad. Good thing I'm not available or else...

MAC goes Villainous

I'm no sweet girl that's why since my childhood I can relate better to the contrabidas. In nursery school I played the evil step-mother of Snow White because I can never pull off the cute-kid look.

I'm so happy that MAC has finally glorified evil-ness... not that being evil is a good thing. Most of the time it's just fun.

VENOMOUS VILLAIN is MAC's new offering. Featuring four Disney villains: Cruella (101 Dalmatians), Evil Queen (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty) and Dr. Facilier (The Princess and the Frog). The collection is dark and daring with lots of purples, plums and reds.

These are just some of my faves from the collection. I checked out the site and most of the items are sold out already. Sadness! Hope I can grab a lipstick or two...
