...another one bites the dust...

Just a little over a year ago, one of our dear classmates in AIM passed away. Today, I received an email that Vikram Surana died because of an accident at his home in India.

MBA 2005 was a small class and although we all had our differences, we were pretty close to each other. It pains me that we lost another friend and at a very young age.

My thoughts and prayers go to Vikram's family and may his soul fly to the heavens in peace.

But you can't. Coz I'm stuck at home with really bad cough and colds. My voice left me days ago and I feel like a sleazy porn star whispering to everybody what I wanted. Hahaha!

Trying to be heroic yesterday, I went to work to attend our MANCOM meeting. The rest of the day was hell for me. I decided to stay at home today so I could attend other meetings tomorrow... sigh! Really, my devotion should earn me a medal or something. A raise, preferably.

I'm on antibiotics now. Hopefully this will go away soon. I guess I'll just try to enjoy my day and go crazy watching t.v. the whole day.

Hips Don't Lie!!!

Instead of wallowing in self-pity because I'm an overworked, underpaid and unappreciated corporate whore, I decided to start dancing again to take my my mind off work and concentrate on losing the extra ten pounds I gained the past several months.

Last night I attended the belly dancing class at Slimmers World in Pasay Road. I'm not trying brag or anything but I have to say I'm quite a good dancer. I've failed in sports and probably in singing, but not in dancing. I never lost my rhythm. Promise! Although, watching myself dance last night, I was horrified! I was like a snake writhing because of a tummy ache! My bootie wasn't shimmying enough... I couldn't shake my bootie the right way... I couldn't undulate without laughing at myself! I did sweat a lot though...

We were around twenty, all women and most of them older than me. They came in prepared with the jiggling skirt and veil. It's a good way to exercise. I never did enjoy lifting weights. Even before I would just attend the street dance classes but I sort of outgrown that. My classmates were getting younger and I couldn't catch up with their break dance moves.

Next week I'll have my own skirt and veil too! Thanks to my bff's sister. I will try to shimmy my ass away!

Fashion Maven: Christine Abu-Dychiao

While some people develop their sense of fashion, Christine Abu-Dychiao is born with it. The two years I lived with her, she was full of ideas but lacked funds. We we're all poor MBA students at that time. But with what little she had, she was successful in tranforming simple things to fashion innovations.

And now she is more fashion forward than ever! With a little bit of resources to spare, she really finally came out of her shell to be the fashion maven that she's destined to be! Last year she started her own fashion blog entitled MANILA FASHION OBSERVER. It's one of my must-reads everyday! She writes with intelligence and style. She also writes for Kikay.Exchange, home of everything kikay. Then she was featured in STEAL THAT LOOK being one of the trendiest girls in the city. Recently I found out that she was called on by the STEAL THAT LOOK team to be the stylist for a segment in Charlene Gonzales' show, AT HOME KA DITO. She was part of the make-over team.

We're so proud of her! Truly a woman with both beauty and brains! I won't be surprised if she eventually becomes the next Anna Wintour!
